Living Out Loud

Today has been a good day.  We got up, had toast as usual and headed out the door for school.  School was pretty good today and went by fairly fast.  In our last class of the day we got to listen to spanish music and got to listen to one of our favorite songs, "A Dios Le Pido" by Juanes, which we listened to constantly in Mrs. Roessler's class in high school. She would be proud.  We actually got to read the words and talked about what the song was about and that was really cool.  I was really impressed by the lyrics.  It talks about all the things that you ask god while you pray.  Pretty cool.

After school we came home and decided it was too hot to even go to the beach.  Plus we heard something about some sections of the beach being blocked off because of contamination in the water which we didn't really want to deal with.

When we got home Carmen had lunch all ready for us.  We had soup that had noodles, fish, shrimp, and clam in it.  It was really delicious.  She also made us homemade chicken strips and fries and we had this almond bread that she makes which is my favorite! It's so good!

After lunch we took a long nap and then packed for our weekend trip to Granada tomorrow.  We are really excited to get away for the weekend because it's awesome to be able to see other cities within Spain.  We have heard great things about Granada so we are looking forward to it.

This week it has really hit me how little time we have left here.  I have been missing home a little bit more as each week has gone by.  I know I will be ready to be home by the end of the five and a half weeks, but I'm also going to be sad.  We have already had so many unbelievable and unforgettable experiences that will stay with me forever.  I am beginning to realize how blessed and lucky I am to be here.  At first it took a while to adjust, but now I am having the time of my life.  Being here also makes me realize how much my family and friends mean to me.  Not seeing my family for this length of time really makes me miss them.  Being away from Ben has been really hard too, but it has been really good for us.  I really miss everyone, but this trip is making me mature and change in so many incredible ways.

Lauren and I decided since the time seems to be going by so fast and since we only have a little over 2 weeks left that we should map out the rest of our days here.  We still want to go to the Picasso museum, go to the cathedral, go to a bar made of ice, go to the botanical gardens, go to the beach more, go hiking in the mountains, and explore the city a little more.  We are keeping really busy which is making the time fly by.

We have to get up before 8 in the morning to leave for Granada, so I better be going. We are getting there tomorrow and staying the night and coming back to Malaga on Sunday. It's only an hour and a half bus ride so it shouldn't be bad.  Next weekend we will go to Sevilla which will be awesome as well.

I will update with photos and details about our trip to Granada when we get back.

Abrazos y Besos
