Catching Up

Yesterday was our first official day of school and it went really well. Lauren and I are in the same class so we were really glad about that.  Last night we went to something called "intercambio" which is where we went to a tea shop with our ISA group and we met with Spanish students who want to improve their english.   It was really awesome.  Lauren and I got placed with a guy and a girl that were really nice and we all became friends very quickly and easily.  We got to sit down and talk for about 3 hours and drink smoothies together.  I had a mango smoothie and it was delicious!
They were very enthusiastic to help us learn spanish and for us to teach them more english.  They also really enjoyed telling us about all the cool things for us to do in the city.  It was an awesome way to meet some locals and get more immersed into the spanish culture.  Lauren mainly talked to the girl and I mainly talked to the guy.  Their names are Paloma and Ayoub.  We are excited to go out again with them and get to see more of the city that we haven't seen.

  Today school seemed to take forever, but it's taking me a while to adjust to the schedule here still.  We both just keep getting really tired after school so we take a nap everyday.  It's actually kind of nice.  Today was a really strange day for the weather in Malaga.  It usually never rains here, especially this time of year.  We woke up this morning and headed out to school to find out that it was pouring outside. Everyone said it was very strange because it has been so dry here lately.  It probably rained for a good couple of hours and then stayed cloudy and cool for most of the afternoon.

Funny story about today:  So last night Carmen went out with some of her friends and was out pretty late.  When we got home we told her that planned on going to the beach the next day right after school and she told us we could pack a sandwich.  She was very bubbly and funny so we assumed that she had been out for drinks with her friends.
So we got up this morning and had breakfast and she asked us what time we would be back for lunch so we had to try and explain to her that we had told her we were going to the beach and were going to take a sandwich.  She once again told us ok.  So we left for school and then decided with the rain that we wouldn't go to the beach but would still eat out because we told her we wouldn't be back for lunch.  After school we ate and then came home to find that she had been waiting for us to come home for lunch.  It was very strange. We were really confused and think that she just didn't remember us telling her that at all. haha. Oh well. She wasn't mad about us being late and we forced down the food anyways to be polite :)

After we ate we took a long nap and then went out and looked at some shops.  I didn't buy anything, but we just looked around and took a nice stroll.

I am very tired and have to get up early for school so I should better be going.
