A day off

Today Lauren and I woke up feeling so tired that we could hardly move.  Not sure what was up with us, but we both felt sick and had headaches, so we decided it was a good day not to go to school and to sleep in :) haha
I think our long schedules and long days are finally catching up to us and making us feel really out of it.  Even with a full night's sleep we feel so tired and worn out.

So, today we got to stay in bed until about 11 which really made us feel better.  Then we got up and got around to go to the beach and ended up leaving for the beach around 12:30 and we were at the beach from 1 until 5. We met our friends Hanna and Amber there and had a really nice afternoon.  It was so extremely hot on the beach today because there wasn't much of a breeze.  I got a little burnt, but at least I'm getting some good color and I'm no longer called "blanquita" by Carmen, which translates to "little white girl" hahaha.   It's hard to look tan next to my sister who is practically a mexican already.

After going to the beach we decided to go out for drinks and tapas so we went to a place near the beach.  Once we sat down we ordered sangria for all of us to share and decided to get three different tapas to share.  We got decided we wanted potatoes with sauce and croquettes, but our third choice we picked a random one called caracoles.  The waiter brought out the sangria, bread, the potatoes, and the croquettes and we enjoyed them a lot! The next thing we know the waiter is bringing out our last dish of tapas and as he sits it down on the table we realize that it is snails. Ahhhh! We were all extremely grossed out and none of us wanted to eat them.  They came out in the shells and when you pulled them out they looked so slimy.   Lauren, Amber, and Hanna all ate one to start out, but I was having a hard time and was gagging just looking at them... Then I finally convinced myself that I should try one just to say that I have tried snail, so I did.  It was really not appealing, but it didn't taste too bad.  The texture and chewyness was what was so gross. How delicious.. ahhhh the joy of not knowing/remembering every word in the Spanish language. A fun experience, but not very tasty.

After that we came home and showered and did homework.  It has been a long day and we are extremely tired so we will be heading to bed soon!

Abrazos y Besos
