Finally in Spain & my first days in Madrid

What an incredibly long two days... ughhhh
Yesterday we arrived in Madrid after 3 very long, not fun flights.  I guess I am just not a huge fan of flying. I felt quite sick after each flight and was very glad to arrive at our hotel and sleep.  Our longest flight was from Canada to Paris. The plane was huge and very cool, but I was not feeling very well on the flight or afterwards due to motion sickness and lack of sleep.  Although it was an 8 hour flight, I wasn't able to sleep  at all (not very cool)..
Yesterday when we got to Madrid it was 9AM when it really should have been 3AM in Michigan.  This really threw me off because we were not able to get more than an hour nap before beginning our day in Madrid.. Yesterday we took a bus tour of the city which was pretty cool, but walking around the city today was much better.

Today we woke up at 10AM, ate breakfast and then headed to the Reina Sofia museum which had some very cool works by Picasso and Salvador Dali.. After that we headed out and walked to the Plaza de Mayor which is just a large plaza with lots of shops and restaurants.  At 4PM we met the rest of our group and got to tour the Royal Spanish Palace which was incredible.  We were not allowed to take pictures of the Palace which was very sad because it was beautiful.  The rest of the night tonight we have free time.  We will probably just relax, tour the city a little more and grab a bite to eat.

Madrid is such a beautiful city, but it is a bit too large for my liking.. Can't wait to be in Malaga =)
